To an ordinary man an engineer is a person who designs ,constructs and repairs.
But an engineer presented this definition,
Engineers defined engineering as the practice of the scientific economy.
Application of scientific law governing the forces of materials of nature,
By means of organization,design,construction for the benefits of mankind.
Engineering was also simply defined by T.J Hoover (1941),as professional
and systematic application of science to the effecient utilization of natural
resource to produce wealth.
Engineering in our understanding as the act of directing the resources of power
in nature for the use of convinience of man.In the ancient engineering was craft based particularly in
some of the disciplines,such as mechanical and civil branches of the profession.
With the need for higher status,but more importantly,with increase in complexity and formalization of theories, there had been a marked tendency towards academic basis.
