To the ordinary man ,an engineer is a person who designs,construct and repairs. However,engineer themselves defined engineering as practices of scientific economic application of the scientific governing the forces of materials of nature by means of organization, design and construction for the benefit of mankind.It was further described by Hoover (1941), as the professional and systematic application of science to the efficient ultilization of resources to produce wealth.
It was also defined as the act of directing the resources of power in nature for the use of convenience of man.Ancient days engineering was craft based, particularly in the civil and mechanical branches of the profession.
